05.05.07 FUUJIN HITS 1ST TARGET - 8.5 SECOND QUARTER MILE
WOW What a fantastic start to the 2007 campaign, after a few teething troubles and a with a faulty ignition problem taken care of it was time for Fuujin to stretch his legs!
Andy Barnes's first two runs saw the car bog down on the line having blown a boost pipe off the turbo outlet, with this fixed he fired up Fuujin on the bleach block in an amazing 'whiteout' burnout, when the smoke cleared Fuujin sat purposely in stage, the beast was awake and ready for action, the light dropped to green and Andy launched the car perfectly grabbing a 1.2968 60' time, 330ft came and went in 3.6029 seconds and he was at the 8th in 5.4988 seconds at 130.08mph, the 1000' marker flashed by in 7.0969 seconds and the god of wind blew across the finish line at the end of the quarter in 8.545 seconds at 160.04mph!

FUUJIN GETS READY FOR 2007 RUNS!
Work is underway on Fuujin for its first outing of 2007 at the PTM Show & HKS Drag meet, Santa Pod Raceway on May Bank holiday weekend. www.ptmshow.co.uk
The turbo has been changed and a remap of the engine is due to take place before the event to see the power hike from 700bhp to nearer 1000, this should see the pink rocket smash the 8 second barrier, a great start to the year if our calculations and Andy Barnes' driving techniques go to plan. Check back for information after the event has taken place.

WOW, what an exciting weekend!
5 months after hitting the first target, Sumo, Fuujin and driver Andy Barnes return to Santa Pod Raceway to put in some more fast runs to end the 07 season.
The first run, Fuujin had an intercooler pipe pop off straight after launch which meant that Andy did the run in N/A still managing a 9.66 quarter.
Next run, everything was looking good, Andy managed a beautiful launch, catapulting Fuujin down the quarter in 8.27 seconds running under the finish line at 164MPH (262KMH).
Eager to back up the 8.27 run we decided to make a pass before the track had been prepped again, again a perfect launch 1.25 60' time followed by an 8.4 @ 162MPH, backed up with another 8.4 run straight after.
As the rules state the 8.27 run would not count as a new record BUT 8.4 DOES!
Roll on 2008, where we hope to see the pink beast hit the 7's.
