Without a doubt the most famous of the Sumo Power Demo Vehicles has to be the R34 GTR Nissan Skyline.

Named 'Ichiban' (Number 1 in Japanese) this vehicle is responsible for setting records in Europe and also pushing the boundaries of the UK Aftermarket scene forward.

The car was purchased as a stock GTR and over the past five years has been built on in various stages into the vehicle you see today.

We have used this car to evaluate many suppliers parts, finding the limits of their components and also sorting the strong parts to enable us to sell and advise with confidence to our customers.

'Ichiban' was used in the beginning as a circuit car and daily driver, attending most of the Japanese car events nation wide, Our sights then focused on the ever popular drag racing scene for road cars here in the UK known as 'Run What Ya Brung' at Santa Pod Raceway in Northampton to give us a platform to demonstrate our knowledge and products for Japanese vehicles, 2003 saw 'Ichiban' and Driver Andy Barnes take the drag scene forward with what was at the time a ground breaking 10.2 quarter mile, not resting on our laurels, the winter of 2003 enabled us to adjust the vehicles handling characteristics for drag racing and in 2004 we set the new European 4wd Road Car record with an astonishing 9.68 second quarter, nearly a second faster than any of other competition.

You can download footage in the video vault section of our site of Probably the most featured and well known Japanese car in the UK today!
