Sumo Power 350Z
At the end of 2004, Sumo Power decided that it was time to build a new car, another first for the UK a 'Drift' car.
Not just a drift car but the first professionally built drift car in the UK.
Sure there were people drifting in the UK before but this car was the first professionally built and run car the UK competitions had seen.
It was built with the knowledge & assistance of both Do-Luck in Japan & Kunny Takahashi an owner driver from the Japanese drift series D1.
2005 saw its first outing at the GT Battle event at Rockingham Speedway where Takahashi drove it in exhibition, 2006 saw it compete in the D1GB series in the UK, driven by Tim Marshall currently one of the top European names in drifting.
2007 saw the car being used in a different discipline from that which is was built for, Time Attack!
Andy Barnes & Mark Lemmer both drive the 350Z in 07 in the Pro section of Time Attack ( www.timeattack.co.uk) and at the end of 07 we shipped the car off to Tsukuba Circuit in Japan, the Mecca for all Time Attack fans world wide. Check the news section for more info on the story and pictures from the event!
