History of Colt Speed:
Colt Speed, or contesting the ST2 class super enduros by Zama Mitsubishi Motor Sales Company has been started in 1996.
In the first year, they did not win at least one race, let alone the annual winner. However, from the next year (1997) on, they have been continuously winning the prizes.
Partly because of the recall of Mitsubishi cars, they once suspended from entry for the races.
In 2004, they had resumed entry for the super enduros by way of sponsoring the vehicles, etc. while assigning ENDLESS, a brake parts manufacturer, to be in charge of the race management.
As the vehicle CT9A and its engine 4G63 are matured, they have become a regular winner of the race, winning the prizes or become a champion of the class since 2005.

Around this time, in April 2004, Colt Speed was separated from Zama Mitsubishi and started as an independent company.
Using the experience and know-hows they acquired from the past races, they started the development and sales of the performance parts.
As the Colt Speed brand has been more recognized by the consumers as the parts manufacturer of Mitsubishi motorcars, they now started the development and sales of other car parts than Evolution, thereby increasing the sales channels.
Brand Strategy:
They also have a network with Mitsubishi Car Life Product, who handles the rally art brands, so as to market the products to meet the needs of customers of Mitsubishi cars.
Originally, Colt Speed was a race section of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, a manufacturer of motorcars, and used to contest the domestic F2 races as the team Colt Speed. The racing team had then turned into a company named Test and Service, which later established the rally art brands for the Paris-Dakar Rally and the WRC rally.
Therefore, instead of the off-road type rally art to the so-called gravel and tarmac rallies, the image strategy of the Cold Speed brand focuses on the circuit and on-road, which is derived from the history of Colt Speed.
In this way, they aim to classify the brand as one of the qualified brands capable of responding to whatever needs the Mitsubishi users may have.
Product Quality:
They have officially started business with Mitsubishi Motor Auto Parts Sales, Co., Ltd., allowing them to establish the sales channels for the Mitsubishi dealers.
Product quality and the guarantee system are mostly the same as those for the rally art products. From now on, they will be able to assure the stable supply of products and product quality by obtaining more product information from individual dealers.
